Security Best Practices
Change Immediately
Change default username and password during first setup. Use a strong, unique password with 12+ characters mixing letters, numbers and symbols.
Firewall / VPN
Never expose RTSP (554), HTTP (80/443) or DVR web ports directly to the internet. Use a VPN or firewall whitelist.
Update Firmware
Keep camera and DVR/NVR firmware updated. Manufacturers regularly patch security vulnerabilities in firmware updates.
Separate Network
Put CCTV cameras on a separate VLAN or isolated network segment. They should not have direct internet access.
Disable UPnP
Disable UPnP on your router. Many cameras automatically open ports via UPnP, exposing them to the internet without your knowledge.
Password Manager
Use a password manager to store unique credentials for every device. Never reuse passwords across multiple cameras or systems.
This database is for legitimate device configuration and recovery only. Always change default credentials immediately after installation.
