In this guide, we demonstrate how to integrate the EZVIZ H4 Wi-Fi Smart 2K Dome Camera with a Hikvision DVR on your LAN network. This setup allows the DVR to stream the camera’s live feed and record video footage from the EZVIZ camera seamlessly.
Preparation
Ensure that your EZVIZ camera is operational and connected to the same network as your Hikvision DVR. Here, we’re using the latest version of the Hikvision 4-channel HVR, which supports four analog cameras and an additional IP camera. If you have an 8-channel or 16-channel DVR, you can add 2, 4, or more WiFi or IP cameras accordingly. For this demonstration, we are adding a WiFi camera as the 5th camera.
Setting a Fixed IP Address
The EZVIZ camera is connected via WiFi and assigned a dynamic IP address, which may change when the camera or router reboots. To avoid connection issues, set a fixed IP address using the SADP tool:
- Open the SADP tool on your computer and click the ‘Refresh’ button to retrieve a list of devices under the Hikvision manufacturer.
- Select the ‘EZVIZ H4’ camera from the list, uncheck the ‘Enable DHCP’ option, and enter an IP address that matches your router’s IP range.
- Enter the ‘Admin password’ (verification code) from the EZVIZ camera label, then click ‘Modify’ to set the fixed IP address.
Adding the Camera to the DVR
- Log into your DVR using its IP address to access the admin account.
- Navigate to System Settings, then Camera Management to add the camera.
- Click the ‘Quick Add’ option to retrieve a list of cameras available on the same network.
- Select the EZVIZ camera and press the ‘OK’ button.
Configuring Camera Authorization
- If the camera status shows ‘Authorization Error’, select the camera and click the ‘Edit’ button to enter the camera password (verification code found on the EZVIZ camera label).
- Once the correct password is entered, the camera status will show ‘Online’, allowing you to view the EZVIZ camera on the live page.
Viewing and Managing the Camera
- The live view page will now display the EZVIZ camera as the 5th camera. You can arrange the order of the camera live views as needed.
- On the Hik-Connect mobile app, log out and log back in for the added IP or WiFi camera to appear.
- Configure the camera’s recording schedule under Storage and Schedule Settings according to your preference, such as motion detection or continuous recording.
Additional Tips
- This method can be used to add other types of EZVIZ cameras to your Hikvision DVR.
