How to Connect an EZVIZ WiFi Camera to a Hikvision DVR or HVR

In this tutorial, we show how to add an EZVIZ WiFi camera to a Hikvision DVR or HVR.

This method will work if both the DVR and the camera are connected to the same WiFi or LAN network. First, make sure the camera is connected to the WiFi network and that you can access it through the EZVIZ app.

Note: The camera must be updated with the latest firmware. Also, we receive the notification for the latest firmware update on the main screen.

Alternatively, we can check for firmware updates in the camera settings under ‘Device Version’. If the latest version is available, then update it by clicking on the ‘upgrade’ option to install the latest firmware.

The upgrade process will take a few minutes. During this process, the camera will go offline, and it will come back online once the firmware is updated to the latest version. Additionally, disable the image and video encryption code under camera settings, which will make it easier to connect with the DVR.

When disabling this option, you may need to confirm the verification code, which you will receive on your registered EZVIZ account email or mobile. Once the EZVIZ camera is prepared, we are ready to add it to the Hikvision DVR or HVR.

Open your web browser, then enter your DVR’s IP address and log in using the admin credentials.

Here, we utilized the latest version of DVR. Nowadays, all Hikvision DVRs or HVRs support adding IP cameras additionally. This means we can add the EZVIZ camera as an extra channel of the DVR along with analog channel cameras.

Once you enter the DVR page, go to DVR configuration, camera management and select the IP channel.

On this page, click on the ‘Quick Add’ option to easily search for and list the Ezviz camera that is connected to the same network.

Select the ‘check’ box of the corresponding camera, then click the ‘OK’ button to add the camera to the DVR.

For the added camera, you must enter the camera verification code as the password using the ‘Edit’ option.

This verification code is available on your camera body.

After successfully adding the camera, the status will become ‘online’.

The added camera can now be accessed on the ‘Live View’.

Additionally, don’t forget to check or modify the recording schedule for continuous or motion recording according to your preferences. You can do this by navigating to the ‘Storage’ settings for the added camera.

Note: This Ezviz WiFi camera can also be viewed on your Hik-Connect mobile app alongside DVR cameras. If the Ezviz camera is not visible, you may need to log out and log back in to the Hik-Connect app.
