Enable Line Crossing Event Alerts on Hikvision DVR/HVR & Receive Alerts on Hik-Connect App

In this video tutorial, we demonstrate how to enable line crossing event alerts on the latest version of a Hikvision DVR or HVR recorder and receive these alerts on the Hik-Connect mobile app.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Access the DVR:
   • Open your web browser and enter the IP address of your DVR.
   • Log in using your admin username and password.
   • Ensure your DVR and PC are connected to the same network.
2. Find DVR’s IP Address:
   • Use the SADP tool to find your DVR’s IP address.
3. Select Camera:
   • This demonstration uses the 4th camera to enable line crossing alerts.
   • Go to the DVR configuration, select ‘SMD (Smart) Event,’ and then choose ‘Line Crossing.’
4. Enable Line Crossing Detection:
   • Select the specific camera (in this case, the 4th camera).
   • Enable ‘Line Crossing Detection’ by checking the box or toggling it.
5. Configure Detection Target:
   • Check the ‘Detection Target’ box and filter by ‘Human’ or ‘Vehicle’:
     • Select ‘Human’ for alerts when a person crosses the line.
     • Select ‘Vehicle’ for alerts when a vehicle crosses the line.
6. Set Line Crossing Parameters:
   • Click ‘Draw Area’ to draw the detection line on the camera feed.
   • Adjust the line’s position and angle as needed.
7. Select Crossing Direction:
   • A to B: Detects objects crossing from point A to point B.
   • B to A: Detects objects crossing from point B to point A.
   • Both Directions: Detects objects crossing in either direction.
8. Adjust Sensitivity:
   • Adjust the sensitivity slider to a suitable level:
     • Higher sensitivity detects smaller, more subtle movements.
     • Lower sensitivity detects only more significant movements.
9. Set Arming Schedule:
   • Go to ‘Arming Schedule’ to set active detection times.
   • For example, activate detection from 8 AM to 6 PM daily.
10. Configure Linkage Action:
    • In “Linkage Action,” select the alert type you want to receive.
    • To receive alerts on the Hik-Connect app, enable “Notify Surveillance Center.”
11. Save Settings:
    • Save all configurations to confirm your setup.

Receiving Alerts on Hik-Connect:

• Notification Alerts:
  • Receive notifications on your Hik-Connect mobile app when line crossing is detected.
  • Tap the notification to view a snapshot of the activity.
  • Use ‘Live View’ or ‘Playback’ options to view the current stream or corresponding footage.
• Manage Alerts:
  • View all event messages or alerts under the ‘Notification’ tab.
  • Edit or delete events as needed.

Tips:

• Ensure Hik-Connect notifications are enabled on your phone to receive alerts even when the screen is locked.
