Connecting WiFi and Updating the Android OS on Your Touch Screen Car Player

Android Car Player Wifi setup

Welcome back to our series on the Android touch screen car player! In this part, we will show you how to connect the WiFi and update the Android OS to the latest version.

As covered in Part 1, we set up the DC power input connection for the player. Now that the player is ON, we will proceed with the initial setup, including Date and Time settings, WiFi connection, and updating the operating system to the latest version if available.

Step 1: Connect to WiFi

  1. Network & WiFi Settings:
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Network & WiFi.
    • Enable the WiFi option.
  2. Connecting to Your Network:
    • Choose your WiFi network from the list.
    • Enter your WiFi password to connect to the internet.
Note: If you prefer to use your mobile phone’s internet, enable the ‘Hotspot’ option on your phone to share WiFi with the player.

Step 2: Set Date & Time

  1. Navigating to Date & Time Settings:
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select System.
    • Choose Date & Time.
  2. Configuring Date & Time:
    • Enable Automatic Date & Time to use network-provided time, which will sync whenever the internet is connected.
    • Select your country under the Time Zone option to automatically set the correct date and time. If there’s any time difference, you may select the GMT time zone to avoid discrepancies.

Step 3: Update the Android OS

  1. Checking for Updates:
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select System.
    • Choose About Device.
  2. Downloading and Installing Updates:
    • In the About Device section, select Wireless Update to check for the latest OS version.
    • If a new version is available, select Download to start the download process. The download will take a few minutes depending on your WiFi speed.
    • Once downloaded, the update will install automatically. Ensure the internet and power remain stable during this process.
  3. Finalizing the Update:
    • After the update installs, the device will reboot and be ready to use.
